Introduction

If you like going out in the evenings, Warsaw offers you a large variety of bars and clubs, so that you will find a place to hang out if you’re a lucky owner of Visa platinum and a Brand New pair of Jimmy Choos, or a cheerful lad looking out for some well tuned beers and merry company, or maybe a gypsy hobo traveler with your own guitar completely out of tune and three smelly cats following you all the way from antipodes. Let’s just say that the offer of the evening/night enterntainment in Warsaw will come across everyone’s needs.

Clubbing in Warsaw

If you’re into a company of well selected guests and sophisticated club leisure, you should definitely visit some clubs at Sienkiewicza Street, like Organza, for a good traditional clubbing experience or Sheesha Lounge for spicy oriental music flavor and a variety of waterpipe thrills. You might also enjoy the posh atmosphere of the clubs surrounding the National Theathre – Platinum, Cinnamon, and another aromatic and luxurious orientals: Opium Pleasure Lounge and Opera Club.  If you choose the best happy hour in Warsaw in Oki Doki Hostel Bar for a start, you do not have to look far for the springing nightlife around – Mono Bar and ZOO Club and Lounge offer a good night leisure for selected dedicated dancers and drink sippers. Tygmont, also placed on Mazowiecka street is a must for jazz lovers. Its two halls invite you for cameral or a bit more spectacular musical and social experience, with live jazz music every night and jam sessions for those who prefer active participation in music.

Lemon Club placed on Sienkiewicza street is not only a good place for a crazy disco night, but also one of the few dining facilities open till early morning and reopening for lunch! If you do not mind taking a little walk from Oki Doki Hostel, your patience will be awarded with the craziest dancefloor for Saturday night’s fever – Club 70. The place offers not only hot brocade disco with the sounds of the 70s, 80s and 90s, but also dance lessons and a couple of really well supplied drink bars. La Playa Club is another star shining bright on the map of Warsaw for those who don’t go out just to sit down or stand and watch. A club with a part of its own beach situated on the right bank of Vistula river on Wybrzeże Helskie turns into a spring of latin rythms to warm up your summer holiday night into an exotic salsa or samba experience.

Alternative places

If you’re a hipster, but still not ironic enough just to sit over a pint of beer and discuss the movement of the colorful mass booging on the dancefloor, if you like the joys of footloose performed in your old sneakers, you should visit two oasis of small, alternative clubs. One of them you will find on Dobra street not far from the University Library (BUW) – Diuna and Jadłodajnia Filozoficzna will welcome you with cheap entrance fees, lots of 70s, 80s kitchy disco sounds, ska, reggae, ragga, new romantic, punk, indie and other, often yet unnamed kinds of music.

Hipster Praga (not Prague!)

Similar rythms are to be looked for in a small courtyard on 11 Listopada street in a fashionable, bohemian Praga district. Saturator is a place where you can spend a crazy night booging in a crowded cellar with a bottle of excellent Łomża Export beer in your hand. Zwiąż Mnie and Hydrozagadka also have to be mentioned here. Skład Butelek is a place to have a sit for a drink in a raw, dark interior filled with candle lights, cigarette smoke, old, falling apart furniture “from grandpa’s attic”, decaying carpets and holy pictures. And all these places are situated next door to each other within one small square.

Not far from there, on Wileńska street, you will find Sens Nonsensu – a new artist pub with live music, fancy atmosphere and the smell of old pieces of junk gathered there to celebrate their second lives. On Ząbkowska street you simply have to visit the W Oparach Absurdu pub with even bigger amount of lumber and dust and an enourmous black spider hanging from the outside wall and obviously lacking some legs.
